Bio
Dr. Robin Gandhi serves as Associate Dean for Research, Technology, and Facilities in the College of Information Science and Technology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and is a Professor of Cybersecurity. His work centers on inspiring people to collaborate and bringing their ideas to life so that they turn into discoveries that serve the public good. He supports a diverse research portfolio of the college spanning areas of AI and Advanced Computing Systems, Cybersecurity, Human-Centered Computing, Computing Education, Bioinformatics and Health Informatics, and 3D Interfaces and Simulation.
Dr. Gandhi’s research interest includes software security engineering, requirements modeling and analysis, data preservation for scientific workflows, and system certification and accreditation. Viewing system security as fundamentally a design problem, his work develops models that strengthen analytical thinking in security engineering practice. His contributions have helped bring software security engineering into the forefront of U.S. federal assessment and authorization processes for IT systems. He also serves on the Common Weakness Enumeration board and as Associate Editor of the Cybersecurity Skills Journal.
